When did we abandon steady progressive steps that move us towards enjoyment and significance in our lives and onto a flutter to and fro lifestyle chasing the latest “shortcut” to our outcome? Yes, new information and gizmos are available to us almost daily (or is it hourly) but do they help us or keep us going in circles? Is changing your approach constantly really a sustainable action plan?
Quick question for you. What are your goals for this year?
Were you able to answer that question with a simple statement or is your mind still searching for the words to explain even to yourself the answer? When a company publishes a book/movie/video series they plan out the steps required well in advance of the completion date. This allows all participants to know what and where work needs to be done to have this task completed successfully.
Why should your life be any different?
Use this idea to map out growth for yourself and your family members. Sit down and list the top 5 things you want to achieve this year. If you find yourself writing more than 5, please remember this is intended to be a list of completed goals by year end. (You can always sit down and draw up another list once this one is completed whether that happens in June or December)
What needs to happen to make each of these achievements a reality by the end of the year? Can you break your goals down into monthly or weekly tasks? Have you? Is there time set aside to review the progress of your goals? When? How often?
Only when new habits are formed will new results grow.
Want change? Are you not happy where you are currently are in your life? Choose to find a person who appears to have the things you want and either study their actions or learn the steps they took to get them there.
What we do every day matters more than what we do once in a while. Gretchen Rubin
